Hickman County’s unemployment rate rose to 3.4 percent in June, but it qualified for seventh place among the 95 counties, according to the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development. DARE officer

Centerville Police Officer Ben Green (right) was certified as a Drug Abuse Resistance Education officer on July 22, having completed training. He said he will work at Hickman Middle this fall, then likely East Hickman Middle in the spring. Centervile Chief Shanon Irwin is with him. The program was last presented here in 2006.
